This commercial was a dream project for me as my love for the game of basketball and film production collided. Working closely with Translation Agency was an incredible collaboration where we able to bring to life NBA Lane with the direction of Rick Famuyiwa. We had multiple sets throughout Los Angeles and had to work within a crazy schedule that accommodated all the NBA Players. This sparked many last minute decisions we had to react on and adjust to.
HOOPBUS x NBA Collaboration
When starting this commercial, the agency had pitched the idea of a vehicle (maybe an ice cream truck) to be the main character of the spot. This lead me to my friends with the non-profit: Hoopbus. They are an amazing brand whose purpose is spreading the love of the game of basketball through building courts, empowering communities, and inspiring those who want to be more involved. After a pitch to the agency and then to the NBA, the partnership was formed.
